In 2007, I created Old Pond Comics to share my love of haiku through cartoons.
The project, with its unique mix of haiku and comics, received grants from the Canada Council for the Arts and British Columbia Arts Council.
Featuring the adventures of Master Kawazy and his haiku apprentice Kaeru, the comics was published in haiku journals in many countries, including Japan.
I was invited as cartoonist-in-residence and public speaker at Haiku North America, Seabeck Haiku Getaway, and Haiku Hot Springs, and was the keynote speaker at Haiku Canada Weekend.
A great way to learn about haiku.
